Ai Group celebrated International Women’s Day today around the country.
In Brisbane, Head of Queensland Michelle Farquhar (pictured) joined the Queensland Minister for Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water, Glenn Butcher, in hosting the annual International Women’s Day Women in Manufacturing breakfast.
It was a record turnout, with more than 600 guests including students from a number of Brisbane high schools celebrating success in this exciting industry.
Meanwhile, representatives from Ai Group’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Committee Vivienne Filling, Yoness Blackmore and Wendy Larter, along with Head of Member Relations and Head of NSW, Helen Waldron, were in Sydney for the International Women's Day 2024 First Nations Breakfast and Panel.
It was an enlightening morning that celebrated and amplified the voice of First Nations women through inspiring panellists who shared stories and experiences that exemplified the wisdom, resilience and leadership First Nations women are known for.
Over in Adelaide, Head of South Australia Estha van der Linden and the Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre used International Women’s Day to shine the spotlight on women in trades.
They were joined by school students keen to hear about career pathways and opportunities and trade-qualified women who generously shared their experiences.
Kudos to Ai Group ATC Employment Training Consultant Lisa Pisano, who proved to be a natural in front of the Channel 7 News camera (below)!
Finally, in Albury-Wodonga, final-year Ai Group ATC electrical apprentice Natasha Martin shared her career journey in a special International Women’s Day Ai Group blog post, calling for more women to get on the tools.
To all the remarkable women of Ai Group who make such a difference to our members every day, happy International Women’s Day!
