"I congratulate Megan Lilly on her new role as Deputy Commissioner of the Federal Government's Jobs and Skills Australia," Innes Willox, Chief Executive of the national employer association Ai Group said today.
"Megan has been a key part of our organisation for more than 20 years and has been instrumental in placing us at the forefront of policy making in a vital area of need for our members and the national economy.
"Megan's work in the education, training and skills field has long been widely recognised by policy makers in the federal and state government systems, by universities, education and training providers, other business groups, unions and others.
"Her ability to work across different interest groups and political interests to achieve long-term policy solutions in complex areas of reform has been first rate.
"Megan started with us in January 2004 as the National Manager for Education and Training, a role that has evolved and grown over the years as Ai Group's influence has increased.
"Several years ago, Megan established what is now the Centre for Education and Training in recognition that we had to inform and lead the policy debate to ensure our members had access to the skilled workforce they need to prosper now and into the future.
"The Centre, supported by an exceptionally capable board, is now clearly the leading think tank in its policy space.
"Megan also spent several years leading our Apprentice and Trainee Centre, overseeing our employment of around 500 apprentices which is a practical extension of our work in the training space.
"She has always brought thoughtfulness, knowledge, honesty and commitment to everything she has done," Mr Willox said.
