National employer association the Australian Industry Group has congratulated Roger Cook on his re-election as Western Australian Premier.
Ai Group's Head of WA, Kristian Stratton, looks forward to continuing to work with the Labor government to support industry and business across the width and breadth of the State.
"The greatest challenges facing industry in this state are access to skilled workers and surging business costs. These pressures are weighing on business balance sheets, and constrain the future investment pipeline.
"The Government needs to put measures in place to deepen the skills pipeline. Infrastructure bottlenecks also unnecessarily drive up business costs, and demand a clearly planned and funded transport infrastructure pipeline.
"Improving access to housing and continuing with incentives that encourage migration into the State will assist with the ongoing skills shortages that Western Australia faces.
"While the state finances continue to be positive, it is also vital that we don't take this for granted and continue to plan for the long-term future of the State and its businesses both in metro and regional areas," Mr Stratton said.
