On 12 August 2024, the Federal Government introduced the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Amendment (Administration) Bill 2024 (Cth) into the Senate. The Bill passed Parliament on 20 August 2024 and awaits Royal Assent.

The Bill amends the Registered Organisations Act 2009 (Cth) to allow the Federal Minister for Workplace Relations to determine a scheme of administration for the Construction and General Division (and its branches) of the Construction, Forestry and Maritime Employees Union.
