Various recent tranches of amendments to the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) (FW Act) were passed subject to a requirement to implement a review of their impact and effectiveness.

The first of these reviews has now commenced and is being undertaken very rapidly. Those conducting the review are currently scheduled to report to the Government by 31 January 2025.

This review covers:

  • The Fair Work Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act 2022 (SJBP Act).
  • Amendments regarding right of entry to assist Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) under Part 16A of the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes) Act 2023 (Closing Loopholes Act).

Ai Group will participate actively in this review on behalf of members and would welcome your views on the changes, in order to strengthen our advocacy.

This Member Advice identifies the key matters being reviewed and provides details on how to share your perspective on the amendments with Ai Group.

Written submissions to the review are due by 29 November 2024.
