The Fair Work Act 2009 (the FW Act) requires employers to provide information statements to employees. There are three types of information statements:

  1. A Fair Work Information Statement must be provided to all new employees commencing on or after 1 January 2010.
  2. A Casual Employment Information Statement must be provided to all casual employees commencing on or after 27 March 2021, and provided again at regular intervals after 26 August 2024.
  3. A Fixed Term Contract Information Statement must be provided to employees entering a fixed term contract on or after 6 December 2023.
